Rotation 1.1 Constance Shelley

Constance stands outside her transplanted Riverview house now in Sunset Valley looking rather confused, rightfully so.

She is already level 4 in the Journalism career and has the lifetime wish to become a professional author. I want her to quit her job and focus on writing but can't do it unless she wishes so. She goes upstairs to read in her private library and gets her first wish, to buy a chess table.

Bippity Boppity Boop.

She seems to approve.

Instead of playing chess she pulls a laptop from her pocket and plays a sports game, seems out of character for her. I wait a bit for the welcome wagon of neighbors to show up but they never do so I send Constance to the library to learn the charisma skill (wish). She sits next to Selma Rosewood, one of our other Sims we'll be visiting eventually. Sadly they never spoke.

Some of my other favorite townies show up at the library too. Gunther and Agnes bounce between friendly conversation to yelling and criticizing each other. Ah family.

Later on I catch Gunther and Cornelia getting it on in the bathroom. I'm shocked by this as I've never seen them be so romantic, normally they don't get along at all.

Jared Frio insults Agnes. "You stink so bad the flies are following you."

Then he looks directly at me... don't mind me Jared, just observing.

By now it is in the late evening, Constance is feeling hungry so she heads home. She eats brain freeze a la mode yuck and then goes straight to bed like a good little Sim.

In the morning she goes to a work a little hungry but not too bad. I set the work action to meet coworkers. I will always do this on the first day of work for all the Sims, then after I will roll a random number to determine their work action.

While at work Constance receives an opportunity to compete in a riddle contest at the bookstore with a potential reward of simoleons and an increase in logic skill. She already has a wish to go the bookstore so this is perfect. I let the carpool take her home first after work hoping she will shower because she really needs it. Thankfully she does right away so I can send her to the bookstore in time for the contest.

She won with only a level 3 in logic and received §1500! I was not expecting that much, definitely worth doing that opportunity. This however did not complete her wish to go the bookstore so i send her back in to buy the Ratatouille recipe.

There are a lot of townies milling around but Constance would rather dig in the dumpsters than talk to anyone. She finds a small rug and some copper. She heads home after this badly in need of another shower.

Just when I'm thinking things have been pretty mundane so far...

The neighbors, Dorie and Bebe Hart, see the burglar and run into the yard freaking out. The burglar creeps inside the house, no alarm to alert sleeping Constance of the intrusion. Dorie and Bebe continue to panic outside but do not call the police.

He goes upstairs and steals her only bathtub!

Then creeps down the hall to the library where he also takes her computer.

He gets away in his gray Big Lemon without ever waking Constance. Half the town drives this same car so not likely the the Sunset Valley police will ever find him or her belongings. Luckily she already has a wish to buy something over §100 so I can replace her stolen bathtub.

In the morning she goes to work in a decent mood despite the burglary. I random roll for her to suck up to the boss, Connor Frio. Later she gets a wish to invite a Sim over and since Connor is the only Sim she currently knows...she eagerly waits for him to arrive.

Connor immediately sits down to practice chess and I'm happy to see Constance join him for a game.

Unfortunately Connor is a sore loser when Constance wipes the board with him. She gets up from the table appalled by his unsportsmanlike conduct.

After making a group serving of Autumn Salad, how considerate, she settles down to read a book. The evening ends as a great group outing despite the minimal interaction. Connor leaves by 11 pm and Constance completes her wish to read three books.

She scowls looking out a window for a bit, probably thinking about that rotten burglar, and eventually goes to bed

The next day while at work she receives two more opportunities. One is to write an article for a job performance boost and the other is to convince Thorton Wolff that logic is good. I decide to at least do the one with Thorton since it will require them to build some relationship and he's another favorite Sim of mine. It is also the last day I can stay at Constance's house.

She finds Thorton at the beach late that evening. Apparently his tiny swim shorts fluster her conservative nature.

She opens with a charming introduction for that starting relationship boost thanks to her charisma skill we built earlier. I don't know why asking what he does for a living gets a negative response about him not like kids, annoying.

The conversation is rocky but I persist, they need to have a decent relationship before the 'Convince Logic is Good' action will be accepted. She tries sharing some gossip which he does not like either. It's not going well but I try the 'Convince Logic is Good' because it is getting late and I'm afraid he will leave any second. It works and they become friends!

A pretty satisfying ending to our visit with Constance. I don't want to stay an extra day for the other opportunity, she should get promoted regardless next time she goes to work and I'm too excited to see what the other Sims are up to.
